Yes, there is quite noticeable distortion in the face in the corner. Only planes which are parallel to the sensor plane map naturally onto the 2-dimensional image. As I understand it in the corners there's theoretically a choice between having straight lines or having accurate representation of angles between lines (and plenty of other possibilities, presumably, which do neither of these things well). I tend to leave it as captured by the camera's optical system.
