Motorsports Hall of Famer, TV Tommy Ivo first built the "Barnstromer"
(so named because of the extensive touring schedule in 1963) in 1962 with
no frills: "One of my two favorite cars. The twin being the other. Wheels
up, no fu fu paint or nose, just bad ass business, tires bellowing smoke,
with a Cad tow car in the background, a trunk with all the tools needed to
run the car and small spare parts. Probably wasn't, but could have been....
the time right, within weeks anyway ---- of the first 7 second run. A week before
"The Worm" did it. Ha! IT WAS INTOXICATING!" Photo & Commentary from Tommy Ivo
