Some of those images are...impressive. I know nothing about fast cars but i can surely appreciate the fact that they (the drivers) go in "dedicated" places to challenge their testosterone ;) as opposed to do this in city streets or country roads. This is MUCH smarter and i can only salute. Cool gallery.

The driver of the Sundance car and the Commerce GA photo are the same person. The late Tripp Shumake of AZ. You have posted 4 photos taken by me. Eddyville, hemi coming apart, rocket hemi and commerce GA are all my photos. Hemi coming apart is as far from the truth as possible. The car struck the tires at the hit, but after a peddle job the car went right on down the course. I think you do not know much about drag racing. Al Booton Carlisle Iowa

Nice gathering of photos, Jeff. Thanks for helping remember a great time in drag racing. I have a few color pictures at "smugmug.jaybirdseye.com" I took with a large format camera in the mid and late 1960's. Check it out if you wish. If you have trouble finding them, just Google "dragsters 60s" and the gallery will come up. I have many more 2.25 inch x 2.25 inch slides from that era that I have never converted to digital. Some day soon, I hope. The folks that appreciate this stuff are not getting any younger! Jay
