There are severals lakes around Madurai as water supply for the land and for breading fish.
This lake is beside the Cave Temple Thiruparangkundram, denicated to the God Murugan.

A lot of Koku's find this lake a nice place to make their nest too, I hope to show you once in another shot.

The flower in front is called Erkalam in Tamil and is used as guarlands at the festival of Ganesha, the brother of Murugan, the 1ste July. Do take care, the juice of this plant is rather poisened and was used before to poison an unwanted female child in poor families.
