Fisherman sons.
Very important for a family are sons. In the status of the family they got the second place after the father and even before mother and his sisters. They are raised like kings and they maintain even when they are grown up that boyish character so typical for Tamil Nadu.

Once in Karnataka someone told me 'Tamil Nadu is the land of children, they laugh, they play, they joke, they are jealous .... like children all their life long' and indeed when I look in an old man's eyes over here I always notice that boyish wondering smile.
