A broken-down, abandoned car on the GCR. The left front tyre is completely shredded and the car has no spare tyre.
The Aboriginals regularly abandon their damaged cars along this road, although some are abandoned by ill-prepared white people as well.
In the 1990's, there were over 1300 car wrecks along the GCR - just between Laverton, W.A. and Warburton, W.A. alone, a distance of just 563kms!
The authorities moved in with a portable car-crusher about 10 yrs ago and crushed them all and took them to Perth to be scrapped.
