Whaling Village.jpg

Cheating today...archival shot! Taken in color and turned b/w. I think I like it better in color
just because the door on that little shack is a bright red and that alone adds
enough contrast to the woodsy pier. However even a January shot wouldn't look much different
as we still haven't any snow....

The Whaling Village seems to have a village not whaling.

Agreat scene for B&W with all those lines and tones. Thanks for the memories too!

Not really cheating! A good shot is worth seeing any day I always say!

I can imagine the color version having an edge. Red is one color with shocking emotional contrast but its lost in mid greys as a monochrome.

Excellent use of converging lines in composition.
