Thanks Shirley. It is one of those statues made of bronze that look like it was done with a palette knife and clay. It is one of the most moving statues I have ever seen - the helpless contentment of the child and the being overwhelmed yet protection of the mother. Just very touching. It is at the MN Arboretum - between the Japanese and Rose Gardens.

I feel like I should have seen this statue before but if I had I would remember it or is it your photo that brings out the best in it? It looks like fresh clay. A wonderful statue.
