100% crop of the Test setup for AF Fine Tuning of VR80-400 on my D300. The ruler is placed at an angle of 45° to measure the DOF distribution.
This crop is with an AF Fine Tune value of 0. The DOF should be equally distributed around 40cm at the ruler with this setup, thus the AF have to be adjusted.
