Here is a photo taken in 2002 of an immature Golden eagle on the north side of Reelfoot. Note the small head and long tail. Bald Eagles' heads and tails are about equal in bulk and extension. Also note the triangular white panels at the base of the primaries on the under wing and the secondaries form a slight bulge on the rear of the wing. Immature birds that have the white on the underwing usually also show some white at the base of the primaries on the upper wing. You also can make out the light to golden head on this bird.
