On June 6, 2004, I was fortunate in finding Mississippi's first Western Kingbird nest. This nest is in DeSoto county, and located about 20 miles south of the nesting area at Ensley Bottoms in Tennessee. It was found about 20 feet above ground on a power pole at an electrical substation. They have nested in this area twice since then. More shots of the fledged young can be seen on a separate page at this site.
