I watched this youngster grow after the parents had led it to a safe area away from the nest. I eventually saw it feed on its own. Since that time these birds have returned to nest each year, with up to 3 successful nestings and a 4th nesting suspected in 2003. In 2004 there were 5 nests in the immediate area ( 19 nests found in 2009) and I found Mississippi's first nest just 20 miles south of Ensley.
