This large, dark, long tailed dove was photographed on President's Island, an industrial area on the Mississippi River. The extensive grain storage facilities here have been a boon to the ECDO population. Well over 1000 ECDO's have been recorded at one time at this location (Mike Todd and I recently counted over 3,000 there at one location feeding at an open grain storage area) and they can be found in almost any area in Memphis. Keep in mind that Eurasian Collared-Doves are 65% larger by weight than a normal Mourning Dove.
