Not a typical head coloration for Semi, note the white on the upper eye lid, on Westerns this is not noticable because of their very light face. Semipalmated have a dusky wash above the eye thus the evident complete eye ring. This bird was banded in Canada and was photographed at the "Pits" in Memphis, TN.
