"The Stag was a whole new venture for Triumph. It was more of a grand touring car in the spirit of the Mercedes-Benz 350 SL than a traditional Triumph. The targa-style body shared a strong family resemblance and had room for two smaller people in back. Power came from the company first V-8 and reached the rear wheels though a four-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic.
