"Handsome, rugged and with an honest 100 horsepower, the Triumph TR3A offered strong performance for a reasonable price. There was nothing unusual about its ladder frame, coil spring independent front suspension or live rear axle and pushrod two-liter engine, but the package was effective and the sports car buying public responded well. TR3s were raced and rallied extensively, from the club level all the way to Le Mans and the Monte Carlo Rally. The most popular of the TR3 variants, 58,236 TR3As were built between 1957 and 1961." -- Simeone Automotive Museum
