If I could choose a second birthday
not that I'm not perfectly happy with my current birthday
then it would be 17th May.
I had a special day years ago as a tiny tot
on the 17th May
and a year later I had another one, for a completely different reason.
Something good has often seemed to happen on this day down the years
so I'll call it my own.
