24th December 2007
blue moon

The moon is moving away from us
a centimetre or two every year.
One day it will be gone
drifting off into space
in a few million years.
Without the moon we wouldn't be here.
The tides helped life to evolve
from the sea onto land
and the moon keeps the earth spinning steadily
without too much wobbling.
So lets apreciate what we have while it's still here...

Lovely! The moon is responsible for so many things: tides, the lunar month, lunacy(!),lunula necklaces, lunulae on finger and toenails,sublunar,superlunar...honeymoon, moon river, once in a very blue moon.. etc..etc..
Jim Ross24-Dec-2007 20:30

Beautiful, Northy. A perfect shot for a Christmas Eve... (you need to put this in a calendar! I'd buy one ;-) )

I can see the moon-change lobby now. Save the moon. Stop using up all that gravity to avoid the moon escaping. Where is Al Gore when you need him. Happy Xmas you you and your family...

The spookiness
