The winter storm is approaching from the NW. The endless peaks in that direction
are disappearing under cloud while winds of 50 to 60 mph roll across Waddington.
The mountain gods show mercy on me, parting the veil for about half an hour.
When it closes again, I turn to the south and run towards clear weather
on Vancouver Island, a hundred miles distant.
