I can see the starkness of the contrast, color and straight lines are an acquired taste. It is a variation of representing how humans really see it; not how they agree to see it. My fisheye trip of the past few days, is similarly a variation. What if you get a Peleng 8mm or Sigma 8mm and try it with a fisheye? Alternatively you can spherize your shots in Photoshop, but you do lose quality and width.
