Gairloch Carn Dearg was originally a hunting lodge before being gifted to the Scottish Youth Hostel Association in 1932. It's a nice building with fabulous views out over the sea loch to Gairloch and the mountains of Torridon from the lounge. A book records visitors wildlife sightings including dolphins and porpoises in the sea-loch.
