This is not in Paris, France.
The tower behind me is just the replica of the Eiffel Tower at Nong-Son coalmine, geographical coordinates: 15° 44' 0" North, 108° 6' 0" East. During the two years after the Paris Peace Accord that went into effect on 28 Jan 1973, the US military withdrew from Vietnam War and the North Vietnamese military made every attempt to take over the south. One of their strategic points was to attack Danang city and the corridor from Nong-Son to Thuong-Duc was the throat that both sides must spend blood to secure.
Photo taken when I was covering this battle between VCs and ARVN's Rangers in this corridor.
