This is one of the photo I shot on Le Huan Street when covering the bloody retaking of Quang Tri City by the S. Vietnamese Paratroops. The original was shot using Kodak Tri-X Panchromatic film and sent via AirVietnam from Phu Bai Airport (Hue) to AP's Saigon Bureau for processing. From here, photo manager decided if the shot worth to be resent to Hong Kong Bureau where they were able to radio-photo it to AP headquarters in New York, before being distributed to the media around the world.
A friend of mine who worked for the New York Times during the war knowing that I am the author of this photo. He bought the book (that this picture is printed) and sent to me as a present. FYI, the picture apprears at page 658 and the book title is "VIETNAM: A COMPLETE PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY.
