Hello Nikola,
My name is Jennifer, and I am from the USA. I hope you don't mind, but I would like to comment on your beautiful pictures of Bulgaria and tell you a little about why I am looking for them in the first place.
I have been searching for a while to find pictures of Bulgaria to give me a sense of the country. I believe your pictures make me feel like I am there. It's as if I can jump into the pictures themselves. I thank you for sharing your experiences with me, and whoever else may be lucky enough to come across them. I think your photograpy is fabulous. I have yet to come across a series of pictures online that could champion yours. I was especially excited to see in your Christmas series, the bread shaped in a similar fashion to bread in a Bulgarian cookbook I recently purchased.
Although I am well traveled throughout the US, I have only been to Italy and Greece as far as Europe is concerned. That being said, I have been dating a wonderful Bulgarian man here in the US who speaks very highly of his home country (he is the most wonderful man I have ever met in every sense). I have longed for a sense of what he refers to and I think that I can understand a little better now.
Currently, in my spare time, I attempt to lavish my boyfriend with as many Bulgarian culinaries I can come up with such as banitza, lentil stew, pork stew, pork steaks, potatoes (baked with spices), yogurt soup with cucumber and garlic...my next try will be the sunflower bread...I am just a little excited :) To his surprise, most of the dishes come close to what he is familiar with. Who said American women can't cook? :)
To me, Bulgaria is a beautiful country, rich with many things that are so often taken for granted on this side of the Atlantic. Now, more than ever I hope to visit Bulgaria.
Thank you very much for sharing your artistic talents.
