Downtown Smileyberg

I have passed a sign for it and finally..after 33 years I went. It's considered a ghost town. There was this business and it wasn't open, two houses, no people in sight. Fittingly it was a gloomy day. Click to see the other the highlights of Smileyburg, Kansas

There is nothing there. It is not an incorperated town, there is no downtown, no store, no Post office. 2 or 3 corners are fields. I have been there, I dated the daughter of the transmission guy. She was really cute. Things fell apart because she was a cheater. Early 2000s.

the name does seem ironic then...still this business does seem to have customers..

Not happy in Smileyberg, apparently. Too bad with such a great name.
We also see this kind of thing happening in outback places.

Great shot, so sad with the small communities across the US.

Such a happy name for a sad place.. Who owns the cars?

The fate of many of our small communities today, yet these vehicles
don't appear to be abandoned.

What a sad town - I wonder if "Smiley" was a person - not smiling anymore I'm guessing :(
