ISO 200. Hand held at 35mm focal length of 504mm. Taken through window glass. Stabilizer setting #2. Other in-camera settings: Contrast: +1; Sharpness: 0; Saturation: +1; Noise Reduction: 0. No modification in color were made. The FZ18 has the best out-of-the-camera color of any digital camera I have ever owned or used.

we saw two of these beauties in Thunder Bay ON on April 16/08. Couldn't believe how large they are and their wingspan

you are so lucky to have seen this woodpecker. I have had the red-headed woodpecker in my yard once which is rare her but never this beauty. Sometimes you have to settle for what you can get with birds. I probably would have shot through the window too as going outdoors might have frightened him.

A little soft but now I see why: hand held, full zoom and through a window! I'm thinking of getting one of these cameras.
