Venus & Jupiter Above the SeaFishers

Planets Paired above the Sea Fishers

Venus and Jupiter rendezvous under the moon while a fishing boat turns beyond the seastacks

The two planets side by side were impressive when they first came into view as I drove down the cape, so I pulled over for a photo and just then the fishing boat, likely a crab boat, turned toward shore and then to the south, lighting the horizon with color.

I counted thirty seconds while I held and waited to get the full exposure. Whew!

It has been a similar view every night since except that the planets seem to go down sooner each night and the moon lags further back.
