I like this a great deal. I can see what you mean about the lamppost and cloud but they don't bother me as the overall image is so stong. I have lots of photos of the Royal Parade; none of them as interesting as this. I think the lamp post may be a late Roman feature. Nigel

i like the distortion... but that cloud at the top left-hand corner annoys me. i've been to Bath! i didn't see this tho. i had to go to Bath, after reading Jane Austen... i forget which one. beautiful georgian city built around original roman baths. bugzie

Dunc,
Very dramatic! I love the curve of the building, the fabulous architectural detail and the way the warm stone colour contrasts with the deep blue sky.
Personally I'm not too concerned with the verticals here - by adding a bit of distortion you have created something slightly surreal and semi-abstract. I wonder what a fish-eye view would be like?
Mike.

Thanks for the comments, I agree that the lamp pst should be upright - well spotted. David - thanks for the info about the crescent... more info on your thoughts about the photo would be much more useful though! Dunc

I like the composition a lot Dunc, A tiny adjustment to make the lampost vertical would be my main recommendation. The warm colour of the stone comes across very well.

Nice perspective. The houses are Georgian though, 1767-77. David Haslam
