4th: Lighthouse by John down under

Adelaide, Australia

I was fixing up the paving down the side of my house when I looked up and saw that the light pole I thought was out in front of my house had in fact sprouted from my house vent! As I would much rather be taking photos than doing paving, I grabbed by trusty A1 to capture the moment for C16. :o)

I chose f11 to try to keep the ventilation pipe in the foreground and the light pole in the background both in reasonable focus.

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought it was a Photoshop illusion! Well spotted John! I also like the framing!
Cheers, Markus

Good thing you wrote the commentary, most of us would have never seen it. It's as good as your Macros! (and you know I like those!)

Good eye John. I would make sure to take this photo to the city and ask them to reimburse you for the electricty you are providing for the street.

Good eye, John. It took me some time to see it, but after seeing the final "elbow" it just appear.

Great illusion, and all the better for being "discovered" rather than "designed".

Good illusion John. The whole shot is enhanced by your cropping and choice of framing. Colors are great too.

Good one, John. It took me a while before I saw the illusion. Cool.
Cheers!

Very nice one, John ! Normally we would avoid cases like "trees growing out of somebody's head" - but this one results in a excellent entry. It needs a good eye to spot these kind of things.

Clean comp John, so i guess your ventilation is turning into energy, a true recycle system!.
Thanks for jumping into so fast!
