Thanks Guys for your very kind remarks. Peggy please feel free to use the photograph. I will post some more shots on my pbase website in the next couple of days, please feel free to look at those and copy what you like. The URL is www.pbase.com/rl will probably have that done by Saturday.
Kind Regards
Rene
this really gets across the size and majesty of the place. i've been to avebury which is relatively close to stonehenge and shot the circle there, and personally i prefer the lighting which one tends to get at the beginning or end of the day - which makes the texture of the stones stand out and gives them nice, atmospheric long shadows - and a stormy sky would be the icing on the cake. :) However I know that at Stonehenge you were limited by English Heritage's opening hours which are sadly not very photographer-friendly and obviously by the timescale of your visit. this is beautifully framed and very appealing despite the overcast weather.
g'day Rene - looks like you really got around the uk when you were here. As Peggy said this is an awesome image. I have not seen an image of stonehenge, in similar conditions i liked better than this one - and one or two people have photographed it ;-) It's an image that grabs you more each time, as you appreciate better how you composed it. great pic. thanx.

Rene, this is awesome. I hope to see Stonehenge in my lifetime, but if not, I will cherish the images that people share... like this one. I hope you don't mind if I set it as wallpaper on my computer for a while.
