In addition to photos of the many activities by recipients and supporters of Organ and Tissue Donation, included are pictures of many events involving Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN), which was created by the Ontario Government in December 2000 and became active in April, 2002. TGLN's function is to assume the role of Ontario's central organ and tissue donation agency with the challenge to significantly increase organ and tissue donation across the province and improve related processes and functions. As outlined by the Trillium Gift of Life Network Act, the Network's mandate includes: * Advising the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care on matters relating to the donation of organs and tissue; * Planning, promoting, coordinating and supporting activities relating to the donation of organs and tissue for transplant; * Planning, promoting, coordinating and supporting activities relating to education or research.
