On November 28th, 2007 organizers of the Breathe In Life Walk and the Lung Transplant Golf Tournament presented checks for $23,342.86 and $30,000 to Dr. Shaf Keshavjee, Director of the Lung Transplant Program at Toronto General Hospital and Dr. Lianne Singer, Medical Director of the program. In addition to the amount pledged for the Breathe in Life Walk, all pledges in the last week before the walk were matched by the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation which brought the actual total raised to about $45,000. So, the combined total for both events was approximately $75,000 for lung transplant research at Toronto General Hospital. This was the first year for the walk and the 3rd year for the golf tournament. There was also a tribute to Peter Laurence, past chair of the tournament who passed away September 30th.
