Yak herd on Pela La

Bhutan

I move wisely out of the way of the herd with mothers and calves since the mothers can be quite aggressive. One spotted me on the bank above the road and snorted and stomped her feet protecting her calf behind her.

Pela Pass was one of the highest passes that I crossed: 3300 m (10,825 ft).
