Monday September 20th to Saturday October 2
Bangkok
As we had been to Thailand on a tour in 2002 and saw quite a bit of it, we didn't feel we needed to do much in the way of touristy stuff. Also, we had been many weeks on the road and, although some of you might think we're on a two year vacation, travelling is actually very tiring and we needed a rest. After a few days in Bangkok, where we uploaded photos and wrote the Vietnam Episode, we headed south to the island of Koh Tao.
Koh Tao
Koh Tao is an island in the South China Sea 40km off the east coast of the mainland. This small island is one of the top diving destinations in Thailand. Other than rest and read all we did was a bit of SCUBA diving. The diving was good and we saw lots of fish and anemones but, compared to the Great Barrier Reef, it was pretty tame but still very nice diving.
So, again, it was a short stay in a country then on to the next. We took a slow, overnight boat to the mainland then a series of mini-buses to Penang on Malaysia's west coast.

Everyone is welcome to download these photos and use them for any purpose they like.
(But it would be nice to hear about it)
