Even though popular with tourists, the Tiger's Nest Monastery is a religious
place and prayer flags adorn the mountain trail. The purpose of the prayer
flags is to invoke blessing and protection for people living and dead.
Prayer flags are one of five colors: blue for water, green for wood, red
for fire, yellow for earth, and white for iron.
