Gold Mountain Mine

Standing near the main portal, you can see the remains of an old ore bin circa 1947 and the last attempt to work this mine. A 40 stamp mill built in 1900 that replaced an even earlier 1875 eight stamp mill, would have been to the right of my truck all that's left are the massive concrete foundations that once supported the stamps.
The valley right below was the site of the town of Doble and in the distance you can see Baldwin Lake "now dry" and all the "new development" on the east shore. I love this view !
