My first photo flight in 1959 at NAAS Whiting Field

Whiting Field, Florida

Chief petty officer Ernest J. Gaines, Kenneth Darnell, and Thomas J. Beatty getting ready for a photo flight in a Beech 18, known as a SNB in the navy.

LCDR Kidd was our pilot, and also the officer in charge of the photo lab.

Ernest Gaines died in 1985 and is interned in the Phillipnes, afer owning a boat factory and a resort called Gaines Beach. Google "Gains Beach" to see more about him.

Thomas Beatty today lives in Asheville, N.C.. Kenneth Darnell died on April 12, 1972 in East Orange, NJ. I recieved information about his death in August of 2013, from his sister. The search for him took thirteen years.

Another whiting field photographer Charles (Chuck) Miller, is also dead. Charles contacted me through Classmate.com and we talked about two hours by phone. He said nothing about having cancer and died not long after we had our talk.
