The medals are some of those awarded to my father. The DD256 is mine. The flag is ours.

A wholly contrived image, but powerful nonetheless. That Veterans are powerfully returned to civilian life upon separation from the military is a soapbox issue for me, so I run the risk of being all righteous about it. Instead I'll speak to the technical challenges, which were mostly limited to managing the reflections from glass and medals and getting the white balance correct.
