I was reminded of the Mexican Day of the Dead. Here a row of pigs are set up to be offered to the ghost of dead ancestors who visit during the ninth month. They were a part of a large table filled with food.

Very interesting that the ghost of dead ancestors visit during the ninth month. The dead are honored during the same month that birth occurs, perpetuating the ongoing cycle of life and death.
