Pictures of happy times.....a family portrait, a Christmas celebration, a vacation. The condition of the photos makes us wonder what happened to this family. Who are they? Why are the pictures tacked to a wall allowed to curl with time? This is indeed a very poignant image.

The condition of the photographs in this image evokes the ravages of time. The prints are so old that they curl upon themselves, as if somehow the curling process will slow the inexorable march of time that ages and will ultimately destroy these snapshots and the people in them. They seem seem so innocent and happy as they vanish before our eyes. The mother in the family portrait is barely there anymore. A poignant, sad image.
