When I compare my own black and white version of this image (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/80830777 ), the difference in meaning is astounding. As I noted in my own caption, I thought the color
made the hands coming out of the earth seem "too real and less haunting." When I look at your version, I see the hands as an affirmation of life -- reaching to and through those yellow flowers. My image is about mortality. Yours is about hope. Same subject, yet each of us comes up with entirely different meanings.
