Old Faithful's Raven
Yellowstone National Park, September 2006

How kind of the raven to fly in front of Old Faithful - allowing me to, hopefully, move beyond a postcard image.

How do you always get those birds to cooperate with you? They must know that, if they do, they'll steal the stage from Old Faithful and become the star of a great photo.

Great juxtaposition, as though this huge bird was coasting on the flow and energy of the erupting water . A mighty fountain, and a mighty creature dancing it its steam! Wonderful!

Superb!
I was using movie mode at the time and have a clip of the raven soaring past Old Faithful.

Yes, it does go beyond a post card -- the freedom of the raven in flight is echoed by the freedom of flowing water and steam.
