In this photo, I'm standing across Deer Creek (about half a mile southwest of where it flows into the Susquehanna River).
This furnace was built in 1750ties and is 30' tall; a dry powered flint was sent by canal to Trenton, N.J., where it was used to make porcelain pots, pans and china.
