Rare Sighting

A rare sighting in Pennsylvania of a Nevadan ghost town lizard! ;-)

Forgive my stretching of the rules a bit! Have so many images from out west! And life has been non-stop since returning home...
I'll get back with the program asap!

Great comp, looks like he's just working out what to do. The detail and light are amazing

Awesome light and the scale detail is fantastic. Really fine depth as well.

More more please (from your trip!). Forget about the rules...what rules? PaD (to me nowadays) means posting a photo (taken anytime hehe) a day.
Love the colors ,the Dof,and the shadow adds even more depth to the image.

Mindy, I didn't think there were any rules and the photo-a-day thing was more implied. Great to see more from your trip. I'm not sure about the shadow, but it adds a point of interest and helps the scales to stand out in that area. Good focus and detail for the head of your interesting subject.

Hard to get close to these guys. You must really have charmed him.

Beautiful details, I could even see its ears. Also, like the patterns on the scales. Nice catch!

No apology needed....this is an awesome image. Isn't it wonderful to be in the right place at the right time!

You surely caught this well with the shadow across him giving him a really exotic look.

Fantastic detale, just look at its toes, is the shadow natures or yours?

Lee, this little guy was actually posing right at eye level on a piece of the mine shaft that was left. He's from the Osceola ghost town mine! No lying on the ground was necessary!
Lee Rudd10-Aug-2005 19:00
he sneaked home in your car! Nice catch - now, is there one of you lying on the ground taking the photo? lol

Beautiful shot!

He knew I was nearby, so he was absolutely still. I assume, hoping to blend in with the wood. He sat there just long enough to allow me to change to my macro lens, and get this one shot. And then he scurried off!

Excellent portrait of a most handsome fellow. Your subject presents great diagonals and lets not forget the really shiny scales and a very hooded eye. Although they say a good portrait is all in the eyes, the hint of a smile here is very effective too. How did you get him to keep his tongue in?
Robin Reid10-Aug-2005 16:19
That is the thing about trips.... one amasses lots of great photos and aches to post each one to the PaD ... rules be damned ;-)
