Since Sigma 18-50DC is a bit short in f.l. to compare it to fully extended 18-70DX, I did pretty unfair comparison to Nikon's great 85mm f/1.8 prime (well, not that famous as the 85mm f/1.4). Besides center resolution, prime beats zoom in all other respects (including few not measured, like contrast, colour and bokeh).
