Dear Jacky,
So far I just admired the excellent photographer you are. After his response I got to admire even more the incredible human being that you are too. Surely your parents are proud of you and me is an honor to meet someone with his humility and extraordinary photographic skills. You're the man. Thanks. Caio
After receiving your msg, I immediately read through the manual and test the shortest focus distance of HS10. Yes, you are correct. In normal mode, the shortest focus distance should be 3m; and it becomes 5m when high speed shooting is on. The design of "high-speed shooting" is for reducing the focusing time and hence a quicker shutter response (which is useful for sports photo). So it would be easy to understand that by restricting the focus range, the camera could achieve a shorter time to focus.
Thank you very much for correcting my mistake. I have amended the relevant descriptions in this photo. Do let me know your comments if you find any other mistakes from mine and sorry for my fault. Thanks again!

Hi Jack! Just to be clear: I'm not correcting what you wrote but only willing to learn from you and what you will tell me will be the truth. Thank you! Caio

Dear Jack, Thanks for your comments always precise and generous. You state that the minimum distance is 720mm is 5m and I trust in you more than the manual HS10. But, on page 130 of the manual I read: 5m-infinity focus telephoto shooting speed only if is "on" but only 3 m - infinite speed if shooting is off. It makes sense for you. Connect (on) the auto speed shoting really interferes with the minimum distance for focus? Thanks. Caio
