Sometimes, at weddings, I like to shoot family portraits at very small apertures
to bring the background into strong focus. I have two reasons I do this. First,
when the sun is extremely bright, it is a way to get a little better exposure and
second, because there are things in the background which can add good picturesque
memories to the event. In this particular photo, the background shows the a small
portion of the church building, including some nice flowers, and some nice
background trees and small huts which are commonly found in Long Eddy, NY.
