Jewish Ethiopian children of the diaspora at an Israeli absorption center in Jerusalem.
Several months ago, Israel paid an undisclosed ransom to the Ethiopian government in order
to transport these children to Jerusalem. Immediately, these children will get good nutrition
and learn Hebrew. In about six months, they will go to Israeli public schools and begin to
become fully assimilated and integrated into Israeli society. At least for the time being,
the children appear to be quite happy.
