Seeing these beaiful red flowers next to the Mexico Exhibit, I could not resisit the temptation to shoot them, even though I knew that early morning or late afternoon would be better for exposure. So to get the best exposure I could I shot with a small aperture and a fast speed, knowing that my dof would be limited at best. But using the cool cloudy blue skies as a backdrop, I was able to get a little background blur to help thse nifty flowers to at least pop a little. Shooting at a slight upward angle created some nice and interesting shadowed areas as well as a good blue sky background.
