Lower Rideau Lake
Because this lake has a current (south to north), the ice is under stress and
makes noise from time to time, sounding eerily like someone moaning or groaning
or a whale's call. When the ice cracks or buckles from the stress, like in this
photo, it sounds like a rifle shot. Makes for an interesting place to photograph.
